EXPERIENCED ATTORNEY AND MEDIATOR
Andrew M. Tolchin began practicing law in 2000 and mediates conflicts arising out of complex business disputes, personal injury (pedestrian/truck/auto), real estate, contract disputes, DTPA, consumer matters (including credit, loan, mortgage payments, odometer rollback disclosure, and FICO), HOA, labor and employment, construction (commercial and residential), together with other fields of practice.
Andrew represented the attorneys of Harris County to the Board of Directors of the State Bar of Texas (2020-2023); he also served on that same board representing the attorneys of Fort Bend, Brazoria, Galveston, and other counties that surround Houston (2015-2018). Andrew was recognized by the Chair of the Board in 2018 with the Outstanding Third-Year Director Award. He also received the 2018 Judge Sam Williams Award in recognition of his contribution to the legal community.
Andrew serves on the Board of Directors of the Texas Mediator Credentialing Association and on the SBOT ADR Section Council. Andrew previously served as Board Advisor to the SBOT ADR Section (2016-2018; 2020-2023). Andrew serves as Grievance Committee Chair, Texas Mediator Credentialing Association (2023-2024). Andrew is a member of the Association of Attorney Mediators (AAM) and is on the AAA Arbitrator Consumer Panel.
Andrew is also an experienced speaker at Continuing Legal Education programs. He spoke on mediation techniques as a panelist at the 2019 Advanced ADR CLE, on ethics in mediation at the 2019 Texas Bar College CLE, on professional responsibility for the 2020 Houston Bar Association (HBA) Professional Responsibility Committee CLE, on the topic of Zoom mediation strategy for a 2020 HBA ADR Section CLE, at the 2022 Texas Mediator Credentialing Association “Best Practices in Mediation” CLE, on confidentiality and impartiality at the Spring 2023 Texas Mediator Credentialing Association CLE, and on mediation techniques at the 2022 and the 2023 Mediator Training at UNT Dallas College of Law School.

Andrew served as a Texas Bar Foundation Nominations co-Chair (2017-2019) and is a Sustaining Life Fellow. While on the State Bar Board (2015-2018), he served as Chair of the Technology Oversight Committee (2017-2018). Andrew also served on the Policy Manual Committee (2016-2018) and the Nominations and Elections Committee (2016-2018). Andrew has also served on the District 5 Grievance Committee (2018-2020).
He also served on these Committees of the State Bar of Texas Board of Directors: Professional Development Committee (2020-2021); Technology Oversight Committee (2020-2023, Chair); Member Services & Education Appeals-Grant Review Committee (2021-2023); and Nominations and Elections Committee (2021-2023). He also served as Board Advisor to the Minimum Continuing Legal Education Committee (2021-23) and is presently appointed to serve on the State Bar of Texas Continuing Legal Education Committee (2023-2026).

Additionally, Andrew has been a Member of the Houston Bar Association, the Brazoria County Bar Association, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Jewish Community of Brazosport (2014-Present).
He is licensed to practice before all Texas state and local courts. Additionally, Andrew is admitted to practice law in the State of New York.
